If you've been on Facebook or Twitter lately, you've probably noticed the viral video, "KONY 2012".

In less than 2 weeks of its post date, KONY 2012 gained more than 80 million views. 65 million from YouTube and 15.7 million Vimeo, but how?

KONY 2012 is a 30 minute documentary made by Invisible Children, a charity that wants Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) to face trial in an international court on charges of using kidnapped children and soldiers and killers.


Here Are Some Facts:
Kony stands accused of overseeing the systematic kidnapping of African children.
Kony is accused of brainwashing boys into becoming soldiers of his army, turning girls into sex slaves, and killing those who do not comply.
The LRA was designated a terrorist group by the US after September 11th.
In October 2011, the president deployed 100 special forces troops to Uganda in an attempt to capture or kill Kony.
Joseph Kony is currently not in Uganda and hasn't been for the last six years.
The LRA has abducted over 30K children in nearly 30 years.
The LRA now is at most a group of a few hundred men, and still causes immense suffering
