Introduction
Many of the students are already aware of the acronym GRE. Let’s dig it for those for those who are new to this term and have requested us to write about the topic. GRE is the short form of “Graduate Record Examinations.” GRE test is conducted by Educational Testing Service (ETS), and the test is of two types, i.e., general test and subject test. Under the general category, there are three sections, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing skills. Whereas, following subjects are tested on the subject test category:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Literature in English
- Mathematics
- Physics, and
- Psychology
Importance of GRE
GRE plays a major part in every student’s life. If any student wants to secure his chances of getting in the University of his or her dreams, then he must have the high score in GRE test. Among other aspects of an applicant’s application, GRE is given the great importance to short list the candidates for the interviews. However, one cannot be confident to get the admission only by high test scores. GRE scores are considered in the admission process, but it is not like that you only need good GRE score. Other sections of the application are also given the equal importance.
Understanding GRE Score
Every other University has posted on its website the minimum GRE score requirements for the application process. However, the requirement of Universities’ is often regarding percentile, not the exact score. Many students get confused by looking at the percentiles. So, to help students convert GRE percentile to actual score, we have written this blog post. Refer below the table to turn your GRE percentile into actual GRE score as per new GRE scale, i.e., 130 – 170.
