I have seen universities from Canada, UK and Australia advertising about admissions and scholarships. Haven not seen such information from US universities. DO US universities offer scholarships to International students ?
Yes! Especially private schools. Some schools publish their scholarship applications and requirements, and private schools do not distinguish domestic or international candidates. You will have to check what your schools do. My friend got a full MBA scholarship at Claremont college.
Some schools also automatically consider all candidates for scholarships. If you’re a strong candidate, you will be granted a scholarship. Depending on how strong your candidacy though, you will receive different amount of money, normally by % or a flat amount.
For example, Stanford has financial aid for students, but limited for international students. But you will have to demonstrate your need of financial assistance in your application. If not you won’t be considered.
The scholarships are :- Merit based, which are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and Need based. Almost all the universities award scholarships which are applicable on the tuition fees. the scholarships are by percentage or amount. The requirements and scholarship criteria are published on the universities website and a deadline is set for applying.
