How do I find out the number of students from a country studying in a university ?

Some sources say that it is harder to find scholarships or assistantships in universities where there a high percentage of students from India. Is this true?  I would like to possibly avoid these universities. How do I find out the student demographics according to country?

If you use the search tool of , you will see the total number of international students in a particular university. example Look at Columbia University New york

The key statistic you should pay attention to is the percentage of international students and break downs by countries because it gives a more accurate measurement of student body dynamics.

I also suggest using LinkedIn as a tool to do research on the schools you want to apply to. You will have a good idea of what kind of students attend and graduate from that school. Also, what they are doing now to know about the school’s job placement.
