It is not that hard to get into Georgia Tech’s OMSCS program. Georgia Tech’s acceptance rate is 21.5%.
Preferred credentials for accepted OMS CS students are computer science or related (typically mathematics, computer engineering, or electrical engineering) undergraduate degrees from an accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater. Applicants that do not meet these requirements will be judged on a particular scenario basis, but an undergraduate degree will not be replaced by work experience.
The other documents which are required for admission are listed below:
- Proof that a four-year bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution has been awarded to applicants.
- Satisfactory scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or IELTS-Academic for international applicants. The minimum scores of graduate admission required by Georgia Tech is:
- IELTS scores: 7.0 Overall Band score and minimum Component Band scores of 6.5 Reading, 6.5 Listening, 6.5 Speaking, 5.5 Writing.
- TOEFL scores: 577 (paper-based), or 90 (Internet-based) and minimum section scores of 19.
Note: Test scores are valid for two years from the date of the examination.

Georgia Tech is a prestigious engineering school with an acceptance rate of 13%. The online Master of Science in Computer Science program is intended to provide students with a flexible approach to completing their Master’s degree at Georgia Tech, and the online format may be quite interesting to many students, particularly those who are already working full-time.
Georgia Tech has an exceptional admission policy, as the program does not require GRE. Instead in specific courses, students have to obtain a grade B or greater.
Admission to the OMSCS program also depends on various factors, including your academic record, relevant professional experience, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and other application materials. Georgia Institute of Technology-Main Campus or Georgia Tech is ranked as #35 in Best National University. The acceptance rate of Georgia Tech’s online master’s computer science (OMSCS) program is approximately 20.58%.
The OMSCS acceptance rate seems to be low at this university and the OMSCS program at Georgia Tech can be obtained at a cost of less than $7000. Hence the competition will be high and it won’t be easy to get admission to this program.
But there is nothing wrong with trying. You will definitely get admission to this program if you try hard and you are capable.
