At Northwestern University, faculty and students conduct research on how public policy affects human development and well-being, how research on human development across the lifespan informs policy, and how people affect policy. In HDSP, the study of human development covers child, adolescent and adult development, focusing on key transitions across the lifespan as well as intergenerational issues.
Admission requirements for Human Development and Family Studies are,
- Graduate School application form.
- Application fee of $95
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Statement of purpose.
- Resume/CV.
- Writing sample (Writing sample should be academic in nature and applicant must be the sole author)
- All post-secondary official transcripts (Transcripts should be official copies and in PDF format)
- GRE scores must be sent electronically directly from ETS and must be no older than five years. (send scores via institution code #1565).
- English proficiency scores (TOEFL and IELTS) for non-native English speakers (send scores via institution code #1565 and department code #01)
