The Loyola University Chicago admissions protocol is a multi-level, “blind” selection process by a variety of faculty members. The college reviews the full package submitted through the process, including GPAs, statements of purpose, letters of recommendation, and in particular, writing samples.

For admission to the History graduate program at the Loyola University Chicago, below is the GPA and GRE requirement:

• Students must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, and should have a B-grade average GPA. And students should usually have 18 hours of history undergraduate coursework. 
• And GRE general test is optional for the graduate program in History.

Other basic requirements are as follows:

• Students must submit all undergraduate work as well as all graduate work with official transcripts.

• A one-two page of the statement of purpose is required by the students

• Three letters of recommendation

• A collection of historical literature by students, preferably a study paper written for a history course.

• A completed application form.

The application deadline is January 1
