The acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of healthcare information to ensure optimum cooperation between patients and their healthcare providers is referred to as health informatics. It’s an important part of healthcare reform, as it’s an evolving specialization that connects healthcare, communications, and information technology (IT) to improve patient care quality and safety.
Professionals in the field of health informatics (HI) are in high demand. Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals will become more reliant on those trained in healthcare informatics to store, retrieve, and process medical data as we move into the information age.
With full-time attendance, students can earn a Master’s degree in Health Informatics in about 2-2.5 years. Part-time enrollment is an option for students who need a slower pace, but it may require twice the average time commitment. With full-time attendance, accelerated programs may allow students to complete their degree in two years.
