I’ve recently completed my bachelors degree and I’m looking into pursuing my masters degree. After spending some time looking for the best computer science masters programs, I’ve chosen Yale University as the best fit for me. Since I have decided to go for Yale, I want to know the computer science admission requirements and how I can increase my chances of being accepted..

Furthermore, is there any minimum GRE score requirement for MS in computer science and engineering for the university? What are other basic things which should be kept in mind before applying?

A little background, I want to pursue a higher degree, so I decided to go with New York University’s Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering program. I’m almost done with my Bachelor’s Degree, and my cumulative GPA is pretty high. However, my undergraduate degree is not in Computer Science, so I was wondering if NYU will take this into account during admissions. Moreover, what are the standard GRE score and other general admission requirements of the University?

I’m married and don’t have kids yet, so I think it’s a good decision to pursue my masters now before starting a family. A little bit about myself, I completed my bachelors degree in IT a couple years ago. Since then, I’ve been working as an IT consultant. I realized that just having an undergraduate degree with a couple years of experience will not get me too far in this career. I’m aiming to get a higher position, so I have a more stable income.

After assessing how much I make, getting a master’s degree seems like a great option. I’ve also done some research in universities and colleges with MS computer science and engineering programs. In reference to my life, it’s best if I get into College of William and Mary’s MS program. Now, I wanted to see if someone can help me with specifying any admission requirements for this college. Also, is there any difference between the requirements of computer science masters program and any other program? Is there a GRE score requirement?

I’ve heard that GRE score matters a lot if you want to get accepted into any MS computer science and engineering program. I’m taking the GRE pretty soon, so can someone please guide me how to perform well in the test? Furthermore, I’m looking into John Hopkins University’s computer science graduate program. Could someone help me know what GRE scores are good for getting accepted into the university?

Thanks a lot!

I am a student in India and I talked to a educational consultant about my higher education plan. They suggested me some universities in UK and some in Australia. They did not knew much about universities in US and advised against applying citing visa issue, jobs and recession.  I am not sure of what he is saying is correct or not. Not sure why he is not encouraging me to apply to US universities.

I took the GRE test one year ago, and I managed to get decent scores for the different parts of the test. I wasn’t able to apply last year since I ran into some financial problems, but I was wondering if maybe the scores I got isn’t as high as I think it is now. Since I want to apply at Brandeis University for Computer Science and Engineering, I wanted to know what their minimum GRE score requirement is. Beyond that, what are the other general requirements to get in?

I am going to take my GRE soon and plan to apply to US universities next year. Should I start looking for scholarships now ? I have heard scholarships in US are a lengthy process and not easy to get.
