The Evalee C. Schwarz Charitable Trust for Education was created under the Will of Evalee C. Schwarz to provide interest-free loans to undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and significant financial need.
Eligibility:- Be a U.S. citizen at the time of application- Qualify for financial need in the form of government grants. Applicants must have an Expected Family Contribution of $5,815 or less as it appears on their FAFSA Student Aid Report – Be enrolled in a school in the state in which the student resides possible exceptions apply- Standardized test scores must be in the top 15% of nation-wide.
2. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Scholarships – Sports Management Majors Scholarships
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a professional association dedicated to the advancement of television and related electronic media and best known for its Emmy Awards that recognize excellence in a number of categories. The Academy also sponsors programs, seminars, and scholarships for high school and colleges in cities served by the 19 local chapters and awards scholarships to outstanding high school seniors who intend to pursue a baccalaureate degree in communications with an emphasis on any aspect of the television industry.
3. Billy Smith Memorial Scholarship – Sports Management Majors Scholarships
The Billy Smith Memorial Scholarship was established because Billy was always helping people in any way that he could. It is a sport-related scholarship because it memorializes the activities Billy loved most.
Eligibility:-Applicant must be a graduating high school senior -Must reside in Winnebago, Boone, Ogle or Stephenson County-Must have played at least three years of baseball or softball in high school, including a senior year-Must major in a sports-related field in college-Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
4. PMI Matthew H. Parry Memorial Scholarship – Sports Management Majors Scholarships
The PMI Educational Foundation Scholarship Program is that are interested in pursuing a career in project management. The Foundation has established a tuition scholarship program to assist qualified students in obtaining degrees from accredited academic institutions of higher learning in the field of project management. Scholarships are sponsored by PMI, PMI Components, corporations, and universities.
5. JCC Graduate Scholar Program – Sports Management Majors Scholarships
Scholarship recipients are master’s degree students working to obtain their first degree. Recipients receive $10,000/year ($5,000/semester). They must complete an internship/field placement at a JCC, and they must commit to working in a JCC for two years after graduation.
Acceptable graduate degrees include Jewish communal service, nonprofit management or MBA, public policy, sports management, health, and physical education, Jewish studies, early childhood education.
6. The Walter J. Travis Memorial Scholarship – Sports Management Majors Scholarships
The Travis Memorial Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a career in one of the following professions: landscape design/golf course architecture, golf course turf grass management/golf course superintendent, professional golf management, club professional or sports journalism with a special interest in golf.
7. Ohio Parks and Recreation Association Foundation Scholarships – Sports Management Majors Scholarships
Ohio Parks and Recreation Association Foundation has been honored to provide three academic scholarships each year to undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants are enrolled in a degree program relevant to parks and recreation at an Ohio college/university. Applicants must have at least 30 credit hours total, with 12 in their major and a minimum 3.0 GPA. All scholarship winners also receive a free full-year student membership with OPRA.
8. SMA Foundation Student Scholarship – Sports Management Majors Scholarships
The SMA Foundation Student Scholarship provides tuition assistance to a graduate/undergraduate student majoring in subjects that will prepare them for a career in the Stadium Management or an industry related field. Applicants must have completed a minimum of two years of study or be classified as a junior, must be classified as a full-time student by their university for the entire scholarship year, and must have actively performed worthy community service and have stadium-related work experience. Selection preference will be directed toward students who have expressed a strong interest in attending graduate school to prepare for a career in Stadium Management or an industry related field.
