An ecology assistantship is a type of graduate assistantship that provides financial support to students pursuing a degree in ecology. In exchange for a stipend and tuition waiver, ecology assistantships typically require students to work as research assistants or teaching assistants.
Graduate assistantships give part-time, paid work experience in graduate students’ fields of study, allowing them to extend and/or apply their domain knowledge and skills under supervision. To put it another way, graduate assistantships are supposed to be awarded to students who have showed strong academic achievement and potential at the graduate level.
