The Master of Health Administration program (Sloan Program) is a prescribed two-year program designed to prepare individuals for administrative careers in health care settings such as hospitals, management consulting firms, private industry, government agencies, health care delivery systems, long-term care, and mental health and social welfare agencies. Students complete requirements in health services administration and selected electives in functional areas such as finance, marketing, information systems, and human resource management.

The Illinois Academic Enrichment Leadership Program (I-Leap) was founded by Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Mannie L. Mannie is an alumnus of the College of Applied Health Sciences and is a former star Fighting Illini Basketball Player (1957-60).

A documentary shown on the Big Ten Network, Fighting Illini legend Mannie Jackson and family donated $2 million to create the Mannie L. Jackson Illinois Academic Enrichment and Leadership Program (I-LEAP) in the College of Applied Health Sciences on the Urbana-Champaign campus. The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and the FIU College of Business offer a combined Doctor of Medicine and Healthcare MBA.

FIU students may combined MD Healthcare MBA degree program in their third period of medical study. However, please note that each college independently reviews and admits applicants to their programs. And only students admitted to both programs can enroll in classes in the combined program.

This combined degree program is 9 months. And students earn their Healthcare MBA between their third and fourth academic years of medical school.

Students also broaden their opportunities to explore careers in pharmaceuticals, hospital administration, or physician practice management.

The Executive MHA program develops working health care professionals by providing the needed knowledge and skills for advancement in the health care industry. Students may attend part-time, full-time, or in a part-time full-time hybrid format. Each format is year-round and requires 54 credit hours.

The part-time program begins in the summer semester each year. Students complete two classes each semester for nine semesters. Applications close on April 15 and classes start in May.

This accelerated track is available only to individuals who have completed the online BS in Healthcare Studies Accelerated EMHA Pathway program. Students are eligible to have those courses waived in the EMHA program by completing five graduate-level classes during their course of study in the bachelor program. The program is offered full-time and begins in the spring semester each year. Students complete three classes each semester for four semesters for a total of 45 credit hours. Applications close on December 1, and classes start in January.
