The industry needs trained professionals now than ever with expertise in areas such as the safe use of dietary supplements, lifestyle modifications for diverse populations, and professionals dedicated to the growth, innovation, and development of the integrative health and wellness sector. This interdisciplinary degree allows provides students with options to customize their degree within a wide range of specializations for an individualized focus that will distinguish them in the industry and prepare them to apply studies in the workforce.
ACHS provides nutrition practice information by state online here and also partners with the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP) to continually educate students and graduates professional opportunities in the holistic nutrition field. ACHS also provides new students in this program with a student membership to the NANP for one year.1.
Develop a solid knowledge base of integrative health modalities and be able to apply that knowledge by informing and assisting practitioners and consumers of wellness products and protocols.
Evaluate and generate best practices for evidence-based integrative health protocols.
Evaluate and provide guidance on safety and contraindications when using dietary supplements and integrative health protocols.
Locate, analyze and evaluate, and make effective use of integrative health research from the scientific literature and provide guidance for practitioners, policymakers, academic researchers, and industry leaders and manufacturers.
Design and implement wellness plans for a variety of settings including individual health coaching, community programs, healthcare systems, and corporations.

NANP also offers an exception for new graduates that defers these requirements for two years if the exam is taken within 12 months of graduation.

Candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree or higher from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the US Education. Candidates must submit official transcripts directly from the issuing institution along with one professional letter of recommendation. All applicants must be recommended for admission by the ACHS Admissions Committee.
