The doctoral program in Information Systems Management at Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College prepares students with a deep understanding of the technical and organizational aspects of information systems.

At Heinz, we live and work at the critical nexus of information technology and public policy. Our Ph.D. in Information Systems Management was created to train scholars to conduct innovative research that cuts across disciplines in order to address significant challenges in IT theory, strategy, management, and design as it relates to business and policy settings.

Vibhanshu Abhishek and Alexandre Jacquillat work extensively on the design, regulation, and operations of shared urban mobility systems, integrating techniques from operations research, marketing, and economics.

We also offer a joint degree in Machine Learning and Public Policy.

This group research is motivated by information technology important role in improving health care for patients, hospitals, and doctors. Technology is extensively used in detecting outbreaks, in providing superior quality of care at lower costs, and in prevention of medical errors.

Business Intelligence and Data Analytics 12-Month Pathway

If you have three years of relevant professional experience or the BID 12-Month pathway provides the same degree as our standard Business Intelligence Data Analytics (BIDA) pathway, but in an accelerated format. Students complete the BID 12-Month pathway full-time from August to August.

Elective availability may differ by pathway location students may also enroll in graduate-level courses from other Heinz College programs as well as other departments across Carnegie Mellon University’s campus, with approval.
