Admission Requirements for Graduate Programs at Claremont Graduate University

The Claremont Graduate University Ph.D. in Positive Organizational Psychology requirements are:-

  • Official transcripts are required from all undergraduate and graduate institutions where the applicant has earned a degree.
  • Unofficial transcripts are accepted for initial review, but official copies will be needed upon admission.
  • Applicants currently pursuing a degree must submit transcripts showing their work in progress and provide final transcripts upon degree completion.
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their resume.
  • A 2-3 page statement of purpose is required, detailing academic and professional achievements, specific areas of interest, reasons for choosing CGU, and career goals.
  • Applicants must submit references who can speak to their potential for success. Faculty references are preferred in most academic departments, while applicants with work experience can request professional references.

Master of Arts in Public Policy

CGU operates on a priority deadline cycle. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit complete applications by the priority dates in order to assure maximum consideration for both admission and fellowships.

Once the priority deadlines have passed, the University will continue to review applications for qualified candidates on a competitive, space-available basis. The final deadlines listed are the last date the University can accept an application in order to allow sufficient time to complete the admissions, financial aid, and other enrollment processes.

The priority deadline is February 1 and finan deadline is April 1.

1. The Claremont Graduate University online application is hosted online by Slate Technolutions via a secure web server.

2. The application fee of $80 is non-refundable.

3. Applicants must submit a sealed, official transcript from every undergraduate and graduate institution that has granted the applicant a degree.

4. Applicants must submit a copy of their resume.

5. A valid score on one of the following examinations TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson PTE scores is required of all non-native English-speaking applicants.

6. Standardized test scores are not required in order to apply for this program. Applicants who have taken the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Test are invited to submit scores, but are not required to do so.

7. Submit a 2-3 page statement of purpose that details your academic and/or professional achievements, your specific areas of interest within your desired field of study, why you are a strong candidate for graduate studies at CGU, and your career goals.

8. When filling out the online application, please enter references acquainted with your potential for success who will submit a written recommendation on your behalf.

Master of Public Health - GRE Required

Admission requirements for the Master of Public Health are as follows:

  • English proficiency exam (international applicants only)

  • Statement of purpose.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • GRE score is not required.
