For those who want to increase their level of competency in engineering science, modern technology, and engineering design, there is a one-year (two semester) courses of study leading to the M.Eng degree offered by Cornell University. The curriculum is designed for students who want to work in industry after graduation and encourages them to begin at a higher level and with greater emphasis. Candidates can focus on one or a mixture of subject areas such as bio mechanics design, energy, engineered materials, robotics, simulation and analysis, and spacecraft engineering because to the program's flexibility (see also Aerospace Engineering M.Eng. Due to the program's flexibility, each student can create a unique course schedule.

At the graduate level, students must finish 30 credits of coursework. To gain complementary skills, they could also enroll in one or two professional development courses.The curriculum of each student consists of a significant design project as well as a number of technical courses.

Mechanical engineering design or application is the focus of design projects. The initiatives may result from industrial partnerships or from the interests of particular academic members and students. Every project is carried out under the strict supervision of a professor or business partner.

MS in Mechanical Engineering Admission Requirements

Every applicant must have taken the GRE general test and have a bachelor's degree in engineering or the physical sciences. It is highly advised that GRE subject test results in physics, math, or engineering be submitted. Except in extraordinary circumstances, only the fall semester is given for admission.
