Admission Requirements for Graduate Programs at Illinois State University

The Illinois State University MA in Industrial Organizational-Social Psychology admission requirements are:-

  • Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework or a 3.0 GPA for 9 hours of graduate coursework. Competitive applicants often have a GPA of 3.3 or higher, with an average accepted GPA of 3.75.
  • Candidates must have completed at least 21 hours of undergraduate psychology courses, including General Psychology, Experimental Psychology or Research Methods, and Psychological Statistics. Proficiency in math is also required.
  • While the GRE is not mandatory, it can be submitted to demonstrate math proficiency.

Master's in Educational Administration and Foundations - Principal Prep (P-12 Educational Administration) - No GRE

The admission requirements for the Master's in Educational Administration and Foundations - Principal Prep (P-12 Educational Administration) program are:

  1. 4 years bachelor's degree
  2. Minimum GPA of 2.8 or above
  3. Unofficial transcripts
  4. Evidence of 2 years teaching experience
  5. Resume
  6. Professional Goals Statement
  7. 2 letters of recommendation
  8. A copy of ISU EAF Superintendent School District Recommendation and Acknowledgment to Support the Candidate
  9. No GRE scores are required for admission.

Music in Performance MA - GRE not required

Prospective students must hold a bachelor's degree in music or a related field from an accredited institution.

Specialist Degree in School Psychology: No GRE required

Admission Requirements for Specialist Degree in School Psychology:

  • No GRE is required
  • Students must have earned a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college or university prior
  • Send official transcripts from each college or university, other than Illinois State, where graduate, undergraduate, or non-degree credit was earned. 
  • Submit a sample of your scholarly work (5-15 pages long)
  • Personal Statement
  • Students must have a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework or a 3.0 GPA for 9 hours of graduate coursework.
  • Students must have completed at least 21 hours of undergraduate psychology courses 

Masters in project management: GRE required.

Admission Requirements for master's in project management:

  • A four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Unofficial transcripts from each college or university 
  • A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25
  • Official GRE scores if undergraduate GPA is below 3.25 cumulative.

Online MS in Accountancy: GRE optional.

Admission Requirements for Online MS in Accountancy:

  • GRE or GMAT scores are optional.
