You must meet the general admission requirements that pertain to all master degree candidates.

If your prior education does not include the prerequisites listed above, you may still be admitted under provisional status, followed by full admission once you have completed the missing prerequisites.

If you are an international student, you may have additional admission requirements.

Any deviation from this program, including transfer of courses and any other requisites specified in the student admission letter, will not be approved by the program chair.

You must meet the general admission requirements that pertain to all post-master certificate candidates.

You must and gain admission to the master degree program first and then certificate program through the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science

  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited US college or university is required, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants who received their bachelor’s degree in a country outside of the United States are required to provide a course-by-course credential evaluation and TOEFL scores if English is not their first language.
  • An up to date and complete Resume or Curriculum Vitae.
  • If English is their second language, applicant may be required to take the TOEFL or IELTS examination.
  • Admission in these cases is determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Provisional students are admitted to this status because, in the view of the admissions committee, they do not fulfill academic requirements for admission as a degree candidate at the time of the application.
  • Students for whom this may be a possibility should indicate yes on their admissions application at the appropriate checkbox regarding initiating the visa process.
  • Students who earned their post-secondary degree in a country other than the United States are required to have a course-by-course credential evaluation with GPA performed by an outside evaluation service.
  • TOEFL Scores International students whose native language is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language

Data Science Master's Program Online - No GRE Required

The admission requirements for Data Science online master's program are:

  • Except as provided herein, applicants must be in the last semester of undergraduate study at or hold a bachelor’s or graduate degree from a US regionally accredited college or university.
  • Admitted students typically have earned a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (B or above) in the latter half of their undergraduate studies
  • Applicants must submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
  • No GRE is required.
  • Official transcripts must be submitted.
  • You may submit a detailed résumé if you would like your academic and professional background to be considered.

Master of Science in Finance (part-time): GRE not required.

Admission Requirements for Master of Science in Finance (part-time):

Master's in Cybersecurity: GRE not required.

Admission Requirements for Master's in Cybersecurity:

  • GRE scores are not required.

MA in Museum Studies - No GRE

The admission requirements for the MA in Museum Studies program are:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited US college or university, or equivalent international credential
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • $75 application fee
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae
  • Official transcripts
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • GRE scores are not required.
