This degree prepares RNs who have earned their BSN for the highest level of advanced clinical practice and leadership roles. The DNP degree is offered through the Leighton School of Nursing at our convenient Indianapolis campus.

The DNP curriculum is delivered in a hybrid format of both on-campus and online instruction. Courses include systems leadership, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, policy and advocacy, advanced patient care, and other key areas to improve patient and organizational outcomes. An example of some of these classes are anesthesia principles, advanced pharmacology, and theoretical foundations of nursing practice.

Students have the options of choosing from the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) tracks.

Graduates of this track are eligible to work in a variety of settings that require anesthesia. Anesthetists are in-demand at hospitals, trauma centers, delivery rooms, and healthcare facilities.
