Admission Requirements for Graduate Programs at Miami University-Oxford

M.S. in Business Analytics - GRE Optional
The admission requirements for the M.S. in Business Analytics program are:
- A four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- Undergraduate transcript
- Resume/CV
- Personal statement about your interest in the program
- One (1) letter of recommendation
- Little to no work experience required.
- GRE and GMAT scores are optional
Political Science Degree Requirements
Master of Arts degree in Political Science at Miami University-Oxford admission requirements are:
1.A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
2.A 2.75 undergraduate grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) in all coursework at the institution awarding the baccalaureate degree.
3.GRE scores are not required for Master of Arts degree in Political Science at Miami University-Oxford.
4.A writing sample.
5.A personal statement.
6.Three letters of recommendation from undergraduate professors who can evaluate the applicant’s potential to succeed in graduate work in political science.
Application Deadline for Master of Arts degree in Political Science at Miami University-Oxford: November 1 (Spring) and May 1 (Fall).
Cell, Molecular, and Structural Biology Graduate Program
To receive full consideration for the available positions in the CMSB graduate program for Fall term, all application materials should be received by January 15. However, applications will be accepted after that date and will be considered if there are any assistantships available. Screening of applications will begin in late January and continue until all available positions are filled.
In that application process, you will be asked to submit the following information or documents:
1. A personal statement. This explains your plans for graduate school, reasons for selecting the CMSB graduate program, and your current research interests and career goals. In addition, it should identify clearly one or more possible faculty advisors that would be appropriate for your research interests and who is willing to serve as your advisor.
2. A 1-2 page résumé or academic CV that includes prior academic and work experience, publications and presentations, and any awards.
3. Contact information for three references willing to submit letters of recommendation. The Graduate School will contact these references and request electronic submission of letters of recommendation.
4. A PDF of your transcript for each institution attended. Unofficial transcripts can be used as long as your name and institution are clearly indicated. If admitted, you will be required to submit an official transcript for each degree earned.
You may include GRE scores in your application, but they are not required.
French Master of Arts Miami University
Admission requirements for the French- Master of Arts at Miami University-Oxford:
1. Applicants must complete the online application form.
2. Official transcripts.
3. Two letters of recommendation.
4. A personal statement.
5. A writing sample of 10-15 pages in French.
6. International students must submit proof of English proficiency (80 or higher on the TOEFL) as well as official translations of their academic transcripts.
7. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is recommended but not required for French- Master of Arts at Miami University-Oxford.
Deadline for French- Master of Arts application is March 1.
Master's (MS) and Educational Specialist (EdS) degree in School Psychology: No GRE required

- Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores are optional
- A resume detailing your education and work experience
- An essay of no fewer than 500 words stating your reasons for pursuing admission to Miami and earning the degree
Microbiology Graduate Program Admission
Applications for admission in the Fall semester each year are due January 15th. The Microbiology graduate program generally does not consider application for entry in the Spring semester.
Successful applicants with degrees from institutions in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or western Europe will have completed a bachelor's degree in the biological sciences/biochemistry, including coursework in biochemistry and some experience in bacteriology, virology, and/or immunology. Additionally, experience in biological research, either as an undergraduate, as a graduate student seeking a master’s degree, or in an employment situation is beneficial to your application, though it is not required.
Successful applicants with degrees from institutions located elsewhere in the world will most likely have completed a master’s degree in the biological sciences/biochemistry, including coursework in biochemistry and some experience in bacteriology, virology, and/or immunology. Coursework and experience that are principally clinical in nature are not likely to constitute adequate preparation for the Graduate Program in Microbiology at Miami University.
Application requirements in addition to degree includes:
1. Formal application to Miami University Graduate School through the admissions portal.
2. Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate course work.
3. Official GRE scores are optional, but are strongly encouraged for applicants who do not have a degree from a U.S. institution.
4. Official TOEFL/IELTS scores, if applicable. A TOEFL score below 100 or an IELTS score below 7.5 will reduce chances of admission.
5. Three (3) letters of recommendation through the admissions portal. t least two (2) should be from science-oriented individuals.
6. A brief description of the applicant's research interests and career objectives.
