Admissions for MS in Computer and Information Technology

The CIT program at Purdue University-Main Campus does not offer conditional admission as an alternative to incomplete admissions credentials (such as test scores, official transcripts, etc.

The admissions process selects highly qualified applicants into the MS program by considering each of the following criteria in judging the overall strength of the applicant. Typically, no single criterion is used as a sole determinant for admission.

An grade point average of 3.00 or better from accredited institutions is required for unconditional admission.

Graduate Record Examination scores at or above the 50th percentile are required for unconditional admission. The GRE is not waived for admission to this program.

The following minimum scores are required for the Internet-based TOEFL: Overall 90, Reading 20, Listening 20, Speaking 20, and Writing 20. For the paper-based TOEFL, the minimum score is 600.

NOTE: You can for admission without the GRE scores however, the GRE scores must be submitted prior to formal application consideration.

Required: Official TOEFL scores submitted electronically to Purdue University. TOEFL scores are only required for international applicants whose first language is not English, or who have not graduated from a university or college using English as the language of instruction.

Required: Computer Information Technology will accept unofficial transcripts and or academic documents uploaded through the application system for review purposes. However, you will need to provide official transcripts and or academic records at the request of Computer Information Technology, or if you are recommended for admission.
