Admittance to a Rice University Computational and Applied Mathematic graduate-degree program requires a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent.
Applicants must submit their applications to the Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics using the online application system.
The application fee is $85 and must be paid before submitting an online application. The fee can be paid online using a major credit card. Applicants that believe they may be eligible for a fee waiver should contact the department; however, please note that fee waivers are only granted in rare cases.
Using the online application system, you must upload the following documents: unofficial copies of your University transcripts, statement of purpose, 3-4 letters of recommendation, GRE scores and, for international students, TOEFL scores.
The TOEFL or IELTS may be waived for an international student who has received a degree from a university at which English is the official language of communication.
Although the admissions committee may consider any test scores submitted, GRE subject tests are not required, but are considered if submitted.
At least three letters of recommendation are required; the preferred number is four.
