Online Master of Data Science (MDS) Degree Program

The Master of Data Science (MDS) program at Rice University offers 3 intakes per year, accepting applications on a rolling basis.

The GRE is recommended for all applicants, but is not required. If you meet or exceed the 3.0 GPA requirement, have strong math skills and relative work experience as indicated by the resume and letters of recommendation, the GRE is not required.

Master of Mechanical Engineering Admission Requirements

Applications for graduate studies must be sent with the fully filled out application form, the application fee, the relevant transcripts, recommendations, and writing samples. Standardized testing is a requirement in several departments as a component of the admissions assessment. An undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.00 (B) or its equivalent is required of applicants.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are optional for all applicants.

Master of Energy Economics

Admission requirements for Master of Energy Economics:

1. Application fee: $85.

2. Professional resume.

3. Statement of Purpose.

4. Three letters of recommendation.

5. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.

6. Approved TOEFL scores for applicants whose native language is not English and who did not receive a degree from a country in which English is the official language of communication.

7. Applicants are recommended but not required to submit scores from either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for Master of Energy Economics.

Application deadline for Master of Energy Economics is February 1.
