On the state level, a professional economist with a graduate degree can find career opportunities at tax commissions, departments of banking and insurance and state public service or utilities commissions. There are also many career options within the private sector and with public policy institutes and think tanks.

Dr. Daniel Sutter primary research interests include the societal impacts of extreme weather and climate change, ideological biases in the academy and news media, and the impacts of public policies and regulations. The Economics of Ideological Media Bias, Cato Journal, and The Costs of Cooperation, co-authored Tyler Cowen and published in The Review of Austrian Economics.
