Now available in a one-year or two-year format, the Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MIE) is the only program of its kind in the UC System, and provides extensive integrated and immersive academic and practical experience for those looking to embark on careers as entrepreneurs (innovating to form new companies) and intrapreneurs (innovating within existing companies). The program provides you with knowledge on core topics on the process of innovation and entrepreneurship, including identifying new venture opportunities through lean startup methodology, developing a business model, preparing a business plan, assembling a team, raising the necessary financing including venture capital and launching a new business. It is also rich in experiential learning opportunities within the UCI entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The MIE curriculum has been carefully crafted to first build a foundation through focused coursework, providing opportunities for application of those foundational principles and tools before students focus on the execution of the ideas and plans developed throughout the program.
The MAP journey will take students from an idea to an investor quality presentation. The program includes dedicated workshops, practice live presentations and extensive feedback from mentors and experts.

Paul Merage School of Business - Admissions
The Fully Employed MBA program is a part-time program ideal for early to mid-career professionals and managers seeking to advance or redirect their careers or achieve entrepreneurial goals.
The university encourage applicants to submit their applications as early as possible. Applicants will receive status updates from the admissions coordinator throughout the review process.
At any point during the application process, applicant may send us their supplemental documents, including GMAT or GRE score, official transcripts, etc. Applications are reviewed on a rolling admission basis. Once their application is complete, applicant can expect an admissions decision within 2-4 weeks.
An overall GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
Applicant will be asked to submit official transcripts only if applicant are admitted and then decide to attend UCI.
The GMAT GRE requirement is waived for all FEMBA Applicants for Spring and Fall 2023.
If applicant choose to take either the GMAT or GRE, there is no advantage to taking one exam over the other. The Admissions Committee does not average exam scores.
GRE scores are valid for up to five years from their test date.

Submissions of letters of recommendations are preferred using the form through the university online system.
At least one recommendation should be from a current or former supervisor providing clear evidence of their managerial experience or potential for advancement.
One essay is required and can be in either written or video format. The specific essay prompt can be found on the application. The essay should illustrate their professional accomplishments, career goals, and values that applicant will bring to the Merage School Fully Employed MBA program.
Applicant may also choose to submit an optional second written or video essay.
The admissions committee weighs the quality of work experience heavily than the quantity.
Interviews are by invitation only, are required for admission and are conducted by the Admissions Committee.
When possible, applicants will be invited to conduct interviews on campus.
