Biostatistics advances the health sciences by using mathematics and broader scientific insights to develop methodology for study design and data analysis. Biostatistics is an excellent field for those who enjoy math but want to solve real world problems like disease outbreaks, environmental and industrial hazards and health needs of populations. Our program excels at training students for employment in academia, government and industry. Our faculty is known internationally for research in Bayesian methods, causal inference, functional data analysis, longitudinal analysis, survival analysis, and applications to AIDS, cancer, genetics, and mental health. Currently offering MS, PhD, and MPH graduate degrees.
