Project Details:

The project is a collaboration between the Urban Ecology Lab at UCF, the Residential Landscape Ecology lab at the University of Florida, and various private partners including the Sunbridge Stewardship District, Tavistock Development Company, Cherrylake Landscape Company, and LifeSoils LLC.
The research focuses on the response of pollinators to native landscape plantings in urban areas, with an experimental component testing the effects of compost and different irrigation schedules on plant growth and the diversity of pollinators and ground-dwelling beetles.

Assistantship details:

Candidates for the assistantship in this program should have a B.S. or M.S. degree in biology, ecology, or a related field, and must be accepted into the graduate program in biology at UCF.
Students preferred will have biological expertise, particularly in fieldwork collecting and identifying pollinators or other insects, and leadership abilities.
