The obstetric anesthesiology division provides anesthesia to nearly 8,000 parturients each year, many of whom are in the high-risk category.

On the obstetrical rotation, the resident will become adept in the use of epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia and combined spinal-epidural anesthesia, and will see a wide variety of major obstetrical problems. The OB Anesthesia team manages many high risk patients, and medically supervises the Labor and Delivery recovery room.

Admissions

Minimum cumulative basic science and overall GPA of 3.0.

Students whose native language is not English but who attended and earned a degree from a regionally-accredited higher education institution in the United States are exempt from the TOEFL IELTS requirement.

Applicants who are admitted to the program will be required to submit a $3,000 non-refundable deposit within one month of admission as outlined in the admission letter.

Admission is contingent upon completion of all requirements outlined in the Certificate of Admission.
