Through a generous gift from the Hall family, the economics department annually offers up to three Hall graduate assistantships and several fellowships. In addition to the Hall awards, the university provides the department and the Center for Business and Economic Research two to three state-supported graduate assistantships for students pursuing their M.A. in economics. Assistantships are offered for a full academic year. Students must be accepted into the Economics' M.A. program to be eligible for a graduate assistantship. The department awards graduate assistantships through a competitive process. Students are encouraged to file their applications for a graduate-assistantship and admission to the Economics M.A. program as soon as possible. In addition to the graduate assistantships, the department offers qualified students financial aid in the form of Hall Fellowships that range from $500 to $2,500 per semester. Students receiving Hall Fellowships and graduate assistantships must enroll in, at least, 6 credit hours of study in the economics M.A. program.
