The UND Athletic Training Program is a part of the Sports Medicine in the UND School of Medicine Health Sciences.

Students completing the curriculum will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and will also be eligible to take the Board of Certification, Inc. Students may also fulfill requirements for graduate education in athletic training, physical therapy or medical school by taking appropriate elective courses while completing the curriculum. The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.

The program is accredited through the 2027-2028 school year.

There is additional cost associated with the BSAT degree in addition to tuition and fees. The additional cost is required for a criminal background check and costs around $60. Information on the additional cost is available from the UND School of Medicine Health Sciences Policies and Procedures.

The Sports Medicine is transitioning its athletic training program to the Masters in Athletic Training as mandated by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Students interested in applying to the Masters in Athletic Training will need to wait until the 2021-2022 academic year to program which is tentatively scheduled to start in the fall of 2022.
