University of Pennsylvania Graduate Scholarships and Financial Aid
UPenn offers excellent financial support for its graduate students. Scholarships and financial aid offered by some of the schools are:
- School of Arts & Sciences: Financial support is provided to all students at the University of Pennsylvania School of Arts & Sciences for the anticipated five-year period required to complete a Ph.D. Full tuition and a stipend of at least $32,032 are covered by the assistance (including summer research and teaching).
- The Wharton School: Wharton offers a wide range of fellowship opportunities to numerous talented students. Unique personal characteristics, academic success, great professional development, and community involvement are among the criteria used to select fellows. For a typical MBA student, fellowships are two-year scholarships that are distributed equally over four semesters. The Wharton Fellowship Committee does not allow for the funding of fellowships to be reviewed.
- Annenberg School for Communication: Four years of fellowship funding are provided to all approved PhD students, including those from abroad. This comprises a $34,500 stipend for the academic year and $5,000 in research support for the summer, for a total annual salary of $40,000. Also, the school offers complete tuition, five years of personal health insurance, and up to $1,700 in annual travel and research reimbursement.
- School of Dental Medicine: Helping students pay for their Penn Dental Medicine education is a priority for the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. The school views a student's tuition as a shared responsibility between him or her and their family, with several financial aid options available.
Only students from outside the United States, those with advanced standing (PASS), and those enrolled in graduate dental education (GDE) will be given consideration for non-university funding such as private loans and, if available, federal loans. Funding amount $40,000.
Masters in Computer Science Scholarships - University of Pennsylvania
The Computer and Infomation Science program offered by the Department of the School of Engineering and Applied Science is generally offered for PHD students and only a few master's students are offered financial aid.
For master's students, there is no departmental money available. Only research fellow positions for doctoral candidates are open in the department; no RA positions are available. Ph.D. students typically perform the duties of a teaching assistant (TA).
