University of Utah Physician Assistant Program (UPAP)
Admission requirements for Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree:
1. BA, BS, or BAS (four-year, any major) from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning in the US or Canada is required.
2. All prerequisite coursework must be complete.
3. UPAP does not require the GRE for Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree.
4. All non-native speakers must produce a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score. Minimum TOEFL score of 550 (written), 230 (computer) or 80 (internet).
5. Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.70.

The Utah Physician Assistant Program (UPAP) at the University of Utah Medicine is one of the oldest PA programs in the country, and has held continued accreditation since 1971. We are proud of our heritage that includes the MEDEX model and co-sponsorship of the Utah Medical Association, the largest constituency association in the state of Utah. As a program created from the MEDEX model, UPAP is committed to training PAs who will be prepared to meet the challenges of providing high quality care to patients in medically underserved and rural communities.
