20 Top fully funded Masters Scholarships for African Students

The scholarship, designed for talented students from Sub-Saharan Africa, gives Osok the opportunity to pursue a two-year, full-time graduate degree in international affairs. The scholarship is one of Georgetown’s efforts to expand its global network in Africa and diversify its student body. Osok was selected from 51 qualified applicants to receive the inaugural scholarship. Brown Community Health Scholarshipis designed to train African American leaders committed to eliminating health inequalities in Balti and other cities. Each year, scholarships are awarded to doctoral students who have an interest in improving the health and quality of life of underserved, vulnerable and low-income populations. Offered by the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health, the Global Health Scholarship Program awards full-tuition scholarships to Master of Public Health or Master of Health Science students with extraordinary academic achievements and potential to contribute to the field of global health.

Every year, the university students receive over $600,000 in scholarships. Students pursuing licensure in math, science, or ESL may be considered for the Schulze Future Teacher Scholarship Program. The Alumni Society sponsors the Promise of Tomorrow Scholarship. Applicants must have earned a minimum of 15 credits at time of application, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be a full-time student when the scholarship is awarded. Applicant only need to submit one application form to be considered for all scholarships. A separate application is not required for the Schulze scholarship. Up to 10 scholarships can be awarded, depending on availability of funds. The applicant must have earned a minimum of 15 credits at time of application, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be a full-time student when the scholarship is awarded. Past recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to receive it a second time.

The scholarship is awarded to a master’s-level social work student who is a single mother and who demonstrates promise in the field of social work. In supporting this annual scholarship for an international social work student from a country in Africa, LDS Family Services hopes to build the international capacity of mental health providers available to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints leaders and Church members in African countries. The scholarship is presented to exceptional students who have demonstrated outstanding promise, interest, and academic excellence in the field of social work and who, like Rex A. Allen Proctor, a clinical instructor in the CSW’s practicum program for than 25 years, was instrumental in establishing this scholarship through a distribution of assets from Salt Lake Metropolitan Services for the Aging.
