Each RICP® course will count as three graduate-level credits toward the MSFS degree, for a total of nine credits. Upon Completion of GS 808: After successfully completing GS 808 with a grade of B or better, the 3 RICP® courses will be transferred to the student’s graduate record GS 803 Financial Statements and Business Valuation Analysis The first part of this course teaches students the language of business — accounting. By the end of this course, the fundraiser and advisor should have the knowledge needed to elicit client or donor goals for self, family and society and to convene a team to achieve those goals now, later, at death or beyond death, through a financial plan, business exit plan, estate plan, or gift plan. The course concentrates on the eight essential business and operational disciplines: client acquisition, client management, the consultative sales planning process, case development, time management, communication, education, and financial management. The final project for this course is a comprehensive business plan containing each of the disciplines, with a focus on increasing the value of the practice. GS 869, taught in Residency, focuses on legacy planning for complex situations, often with business owners, across multiple generations. Students admitted to the graduate program have seven years from the date of admission to complete degree requirements.
The Emerging Leaders Scholarship is offered to individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential. Each year, up to ten newly enrolling students are selected to receive the Emerging Leaders Scholarship. Five scholarships will be awarded to students in the Fall term and five scholarships in the winter term. Scholarship recipients are identified as high potential, emerging leaders who share a genuine commitment to developing their leadership potential. The university expand on the university mission to develop impactful leaders with the Emerging Leaders Scholarship. $7,000 in tuition credit awarded over the course of the graduate business degree program. Scholarship is only available through tuition credit and will be credited to the student account after they have exhausted any available corporate tuition reimbursement. Participate in educational leadership sessions designed for Emerging Leader Scholarship recipients.
Graduate students from Canada may automatically qualify for Oakland University’s Non-Resident Award. This scholarship awards new graduate students the difference between resident and non-resident tuition rates. The scholarship is the difference between resident and non-resident tuition rates. Masters-level students are eligible to receive the scholarship for up to two years Students admitted to an graduate degree or a graduate degree which is assessed by a program rate, rather than the standard graduate tuition rate, are not eligible for this scholarship. Ph.D. students are eligible to receive the scholarship for up to five years
