The Department of Computer Science offers programs leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in areas such as algorithms, architecture, artificial intelligence, scientific computing, and systems. The M.S. program consists of a coursework--only option (30 credits) or a thesis or project option, which requires the supervision of a faculty advisor and an oral defense. The Ph.D. program consists of coursework and a sequence of research milestones culminating in a doctoral dissertation.

In recognition of the significant disruptions caused by COVID-19, specifically the challenges of finding a practical testing site and time, the Wake Forest University Computer Science Department will not require GRE scores for the applications for admissions to start the university program in Spring 2022 or Fall 2022.
