The quantitative requirement for the PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering is 72 credit hours. Units earned toward a previous MS in Engineering may be counted towards these totals. The doctor of philosophy in mechanical and aerospace engineering is a research-focused degree program with the objective of preparing students for a life of scholarship in their field of interest. All students are notified in writing of the outcome of the examination by the chair of the Graduate Curriculum Committee, one week after all exams have been completed.
