Students will be given the opportunity to generate industry-specific knowledge through exposure to and participation in academic research with a dicipline-specific application.

Upon completion of all core coursework, students will be familiar with key research in the areas of sport andentertainment management, marketing, finance and law.

SPTE 640 Venue Management: Principles and Practices.

SPTE 701 Management in the Sport and Entertainment Industry.

SPTE 746 Risk and Security Management in Public Assembly Facilities.

SPTE 760 Principles of Sport and Entertainment Marketing.

These courses may be waived for those with prior academic exposure or significant industry experiences.

The Program will expose students to advanced and current research being conducted in the sport and entertainment industry. A substantial portion of the coursework will consist of courses that focus on research methodology and statistical analysis techniques. critical analysis skills while serving as the basis for developing a sustainable research agenda.

SPTE 801 Seminar in Sport and Entertainment Management.

SPTE 810 Seminar in Sport and Entertainment Education.

SPTE 830 Seminar in Sport and Entertainment Law Risk Management.

SPTE 860 Seminar in Sport and Entertainment Marketing.

Two Research Methods courses (one of which must be qualitative) (6 hours).

The students should specialize in their chosen area of research interest. At least 6 hours of course work must be taken outside the SPTE Department.
