Pacific doctor of audiology (AuD) program is the only three-year accelerated program in California. Students with a bachelor degree in any major and an interest in the profession of audiology are encouraged to apply. While in the program, students will gain rich and diverse clinical experiences through the onsite audiology clinic, nearby medical and audiology centers as well as the audiology clinic in Stockton. This program is offered at Pacific new state-of-the-art campus in the SoMa district of San Francisco.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Labor, Employment of audiologists is projected to grow 13 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. Hearing loss increases as people age, so an aging population is likely to increase demand for audiologists. The early identification and diagnosis of hearing disorders in infants also will spur employment growth. Advances in hearing aid design may make the devices appealing as a means to minimize hearing loss, leading to demand for audiologists.

The three components of the doctorate-coursework, clinical practicum and research training-are integrated into a sequential program. St. John Adelphi, and Hofstra Universities, three distinguished academic institutions on Long Island, have joined resources to offer a combined Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.).
The curriculum includes advanced course work in vestibular assessment, hearing aid technology, early intervention, and electrophysiology.Efforts are made to balance the number of course offerings among the three schools. The student takes courses in a lock-step program for the first three years and completes a 1820-hour practicum in the fourth year.
Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
The application is submitted through Adelphi University and requires an official transcript from all schools attended (minimum overall GPA of 3.0), GRE scores (optional), two letters of recommendation, and a 300-word essay describing why the individual wants to pursue a doctoral degree. An interview is required of all students being considered for admission to the program.
Applications are due by February 1 (fall admission only). All applicants to the Doctorate of Audiology doctoral program must apply and submit all admission materials to Adelphi University.
Progress through the program is monitored through academic advising, assessment of educational and clinical performance, and periodic competency based evaluations administered at regular intervals throughout the program.
