GSBS and The Tufts Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute offer two certificates, an in-person Clinical and Translational Sciences Certificate and an online Health Economics and Outcomes Research Certificate. Both programs are part-time, and designed for individuals who seek specialized training outside the commitment of a degree program.

Boston University Chobanian Avedisian School of Medicine began as the New England Female Medical College in 1848. It was the first institution in the world to offer medical education to women and the first to graduate a black female physician. The medical college merged with Boston University in 1873, becoming the first coeducational medical school in the nation.
