Graduate Certificate in College Institution: A three course sequence designed to teach students the fundamentals of teaching and learning.

The Graduate Certificate in Cell and Molecular Biology prepares students for graduate-level studies or laboratory work in cell and molecular biology. Students will be introduced to research, experimental design, and laboratory methods. Students will gain knowledge in the cellular and molecular aspects of human cell functioning and its pathophysiology. Upon graduation, students will be able to analyze and interpret the results of experiments such as cell cultures, blood tests, and tumor biomarker tests. Graduates will also be prepared to apply to graduate programs in biology and related science disciplines.

The Cal Poly Humboldt Certificate in Stem Cell Biology Regenerative Medicine prepares biomedical scientists dedicated to advancing cell-based therapies.

Since 2008, The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) has funded this program, and ten paid internship positions a year through its CIRM Bridges initiative. Over 100 Cal Poly Humboldt CIRM Bridges alumni are working in the field as clinicians, researchers, and or laboratory technicians.

Participants also participate in a 12-month internship at one of these outstanding collaborating host institutions: Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute,The Gladstone Institute, The Institute for Stem Cell Biology at UC Santa Cruz, The Stanford University Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Takeda California, and UC Davis Stem Cell Program.

This 1.5 year program concentration heavily emphasizes computation, line command coding, and programming as it applies to biological problems and questions.

This M.S. with a concentration in research gives you the opportunity to pursue your research interests in a specific aspect of genomics, microbiology, evolution, ecology, parasitology, molecular biology and bioinformatics.

As a graduate of this program, you can enter a multitude of careers in any field of biology or continue your educational journey in a Ph.D. or professional medical program.

In the Master of Professional Science in Environmental Sciences program, you have the choice to specialize in marine biology, coastal zone management, computational molecular biology or environmental sciences. This program is unique by providing basic applied marine and environmental science as its anchor.
