Applicants must submit transcripts from each university college they have attended as part of their application. International applicants must also provide a certificate of degree for any degrees that they have been awarded. Additionally, if transcripts and or certificates of degree are not normally printed in English, then attested English versions must also be provided.
Any student who is offered and accepts a position with our department must also submit final official transcripts. Please keep in mind that submitting transcripts with the online application does not replace the requirement to submit final official transcripts.
Final Official Transcripts can be official paper transcripts or official electronic transcripts sent directly from your previous institution to our institution. Please note that final official transcripts must indicate that all of your coursework has been completed, and if you have earned a degree by providing the date your degree was conferred ( after grades and after degree is conferred does not mean the same thing, when requesting transcripts.).

This online graduate certificate program has been created for teachers seeking to improve their pedagogical content knowledge to support their teaching of College Credit Plus (CCP) courses. This program consists of four graduate courses, totaling 18 graduate credit hours, that are entirely online, asynchronous and scheduled throughout the year in half or full semester offerings.
The curricula examine content found in General Chemistry courses, but at a much deeper level. All program classes are flexible, interactive and supportive but also demanding. Participants will succeed in these courses, but it is important to realize they require a high level of commitment and dedication.
Like other learning environments, motivation and purpose for taking a course are important factors that influence their experiences in the course. Participants eager to improve their own instruction will find resources to use with their students, deepen their content knowledge and find this program especially rewarding.
Courses are entirely online and available every semester in half or full-semester versions. They should be taken in order but there is not a requirement to enroll in courses every semester. Enrolling in Summer terms is encouraged for professionals.
Courses are asynchronous, self-paced and highly interactive with many opportunities to share ideas.
Focus is on deepening the pedagogical content knowledge of teachers for use in their own courses.
The participant chooses their own path among provided resources to complete course modules, prepare lesson plans and write reflection papers.

Historically, chemistry was understood as being organized into two broad categories: experimental and computational. However, that classification system has become increasingly inadequate to describe the fascinating and diverse types of chemistry research now available due to increased computing capabilities. For example, computational models can help us estimate how molecules fit into enzymes to control their expression, so we can maximize the time and materials devoted to drug discovery. intricate response to predators. Further harnessing the computing power of supercomputers enables physical chemists to elucidate the vibrational modes in crystal structures. Therefore, for these and many other chemistry applications, it is vital to develop the knowledge, skills, and experience for students to learn computations skills to work on modern, complex chemical studies.

The Lampkins Supramolecular Chemistry Lab uses a program called Autodock Vina to virtually test compounds that we design to inhibit the replication of gram-negative, drug resistant bacteria.
Dr. Lampkins obtained grant funding and mentored Phil Wittel, who performed a computational chemistry visualization project in which he modeled potential target molecules for their fit in the ATP binding site of E. Coli gyrase B in AutoDock Vina.
Dr. Lynch obtained funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) XSEDE program to utilize time on the supercomputer Stampede to study vibrations in crystals of cyclopentane.

Cannabinoids are a major class of pharmacologically active molecules found in cannabis, commonly known as marijuana. With increased nationwide trends toward legalization and prescription of medical marijuana, development of cannabis related therapies, and legalization of recreational marijuana (including in the State of NJ), there is a pressing need for scientists trained in the analysis of cannabinoid containing materials. These needs are highlighted in a recent report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. This program will train students in the fundamental and underlying science necessary for the analysis of marijuana, cannabinoids, and related materials.
The Certificate of Graduate Study in Cannabinoid Chemistry is a full-time or part-time program offered in a hybrid format at our Glassboro, NJ campus. It requires the completion of 12-13 graduate semester hours.
