Construction management offers skills to become and effective construction manager. Few universities give the option of completing the 18-credit certificate as a stand-alone professional development credential or as a step toward the MS in Construction Management. The McWhorter School of Building Science is now offering three graduate certificates in construction management. It teaches students about the construction processes that constitute a project, from development conception, through project financing and design, into the on-site construction phase and management of the facility. This program will give students a broad understanding of building information modeling (BIM), mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems in buildings.

Cost and duration for construction management post bachelor certificate program

The Graduate Certificate in Construction Management is a 15-credit program that may be taken on a part- or full-time basis. Most 1.5 credit classes run for 7 weeks and 3-credit classes run for 14 weeks. Tuition is $1,350 per credit. There is a $60 application fee, which may be waived if you are a current student or alumnus in Fordham’s Real Estate Institute.

The Construction Management Graduate Certificate provides graduates with a strong skill set in acquiring and executing construction projects in the public and private sectors. Along with offering a broad introduction to the principles of construction management, this graduate certificate program also explores alternative delivery methods and controls for construction projects; safety, project risk, and quality management; team leadership; and negotiation skills and techniques. The Construction Management Graduate Certificate is intended to serve owners' representatives, consulting engineers, architects, design engineers, contractors, and subcontractors. Individuals who have a Bachelor of Science, but not necessarily in construction, and who have been identified by their companies as having high potential for advancement are also good candidates for the program.

Iowa State University’s 100% online Construction Management certificate will enable the student to professionally and independently manage construction projects. This program will consist of a 12-credit sequence of graduate courses. Nine of the required credits will be three 3-credit core courses with the remaining 3 credits selected from an approved list of electives.
