Kerolos Elsayed, endodontics resident with highest Endolit final exam score nationwide.

Given the shift to remote learning in the spring, the exam, sponsored by Endolit, was offered to all graduating endodontic residents across the country in preparation for the American Board of Endodontics written exam. In order to become board certified, endodontists must complete three different types of examinations: written, case history and oral.

He went on to graduate from Boston University with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and worked as a general dentist in Illinois.

Herbert Schilder. He was an endodontist from Boston University. He was a pioneer in endodontics and one of the people who contributed a lot to the specialty.

Principles of Endodontics I: An introductory course in endodontics defines procedures necessary for conventional treatment. Students develop the psychomotor skills required for patient treatment by carrying out simulated procedures in the laboratory.

Principles of Endodontics II: A complete course in the theory and practice of endodontics places special emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of pulpal disease and the interrelationship of endodontics to all the other dental disciplines.

Endodontics Clinic I II: Under supervision, students apply the principles and techniques acquired in the basic endodontic courses, along with basic science knowledge, to patient care and management in the clinic.

Dugoni School of Dentistry Academic Programs at the Dugoni School.

A unique endodontics program combining the best of clinical education and research training in San Francisco, California. Students will work with a team of clinician-scientists with experience in basic and translational research at the Endodontics, University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

We focus on groundbreaking technologies in endodontics, including novel tissue engineering and disinfection strategies. By integrating our clinical and research expertise in microbiology, tissue engineering and materials science, we aim to investigate and develop approaches that will eradicate endodontic biofilms and promote regeneration of the dentin-pulp complex.

PhD conjoint program. This five-year, full-time, self-funded program provides a unique opportunity for clinician-scientists to hone their skills and excel both in their advanced clinical training in endodontics, but also cutting-edge research, which prepares them for both specialty practice and the academic world.

The first three years of this program are dedicated to the PhD program, which is offered in association with the Chemistry, and the subsequent two years focus on advanced training in endodontology.

As one of the select few clinician-scientists with advanced training in endodontology and a PhD, you become ready for both clinical practice and an educator scientist track. There is also ample opportunity in industry for candidates who have an interest in entrepreneurship. During the PhD program, you will also be exposed to the classic and recent science in endodontics. You will have the opportunity to attend classes with the endodontic residents. You will also engage in the simulation laboratory and didactic education of the pre-doctoral students during your program.

Dr. Azim is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He has over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and several textbook chapters such including Ingle Endodontics and Endodontics: Principles and Practices.

The Endodontics is dedicated to providing quality endodontic dental care services as well as advancing new knowledge through teaching, research, community involvement and patient care. After an introduction to the specialty in their first year, students learn and develop didactic and treatment skills during preclinical classes and labs in the second year. Advanced topics and clinical techniques are stressed in the third year, which allows patient treatment during the third and fourth years. In the fourth year, students are prepared for dental board examinations and are given the opportunity to treat a variety of clinical cases in both the School of Dentistry and off-site service-learning clinics.
