The research has two subfoci: research with children and teachers on the benefits of positive behavior support in physical education and on young adults with autism spectrum disorder and physical activity and transition. Buchanan’s current research focuses on attempting to change the behavior of students by using the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports model in physical education classes.
