Barbosaprovides CU Jazz Studies double bassists with excellent training in jazz and latin styles. Since arriving in Denver in 1997, Bijoux has established himself as one of the most sought after bassists in the Colorado region. He is one of the top studio musicians in Colorado, and can be heard on over 300 recordings in Jazz, Folk, Bluegrass, Pop, Country, Blues, Brazilian, Rock, Fusion, and Big Band.

The Jazz Studies program at the University of North Texas provides you with an intense musical experience. You can pursue a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies in one of three tracks: performance, composition and pedagogy. At the doctoral level, we offer a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Performance with a concentration in Jazz Studies. Students participate in the region musical life while at UNT and later join a large community of successful jazz alumni.
