Oral English skills are very important. Final decisions on admission of non-native speakers may be contingent on a Skype interview with a member of the Graduate Committee.

MS students do not normally receive by the School of Materials Engineering. Students wishing to obtain an MS on the way to the Ph.D. should Ph.D. program, instead. MS seeking students funded by industry, government, or self-supported can apply.

Professional MS degree option is completely self-funded and students cannot transfer to another degree. Students must complete degree and then re-apply for PhD.

Materials Engineering accepts the Graduate School basic requirements as described on the English Proficiency Requirements page.
