Students select and complete one functional area certificate as their interdisciplinary, professional skills base (16 credits) and have the option to take a context certificate (focused on key populations or areas of interest in public health, 12 credits) or elective courses to fulfill SPH coursework requirement. Leave of Absence—A student who must interrupt active pursuit of the degree or certificate may petition the senior associate dean for health sciences (or delegate) through the respective program director, for a leave of absence for a specified period of time, generally limited to one calendar year.
