No the DNP program is not designed to allow you to sit for certification after only partial completion. Students complete foundation courses in the first 1-2 years of the program and typically start their clinical courses in the 3rd year. Graduate Program: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Certificate NDP). The Certificate in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care is designed to prepare current APRNs to sit for additional certificiation in the specialty. Certificate programs and may not be offered every academic year. All applicants to the certificate program should review the application information on the College of Nursing website. Admission requirements include copies of RN licensure and other documents. We do not require any standardized tests for admission to the certificate program. Certificate students may not be eligible for financial aid. Students are admitted to the certificate program once per year for an August start. Applications open in Mid-March with deadlines in Mid-June. Applicants are encouraged to review the information and updated deadlines on the College of Nursing website prior to submitting an application. The certificate prepares graduates to be advanced care providers in roles as nurse practitioners. Additional Requirements:Students are required to attend Resident Intensive Summer Experience (RISE) once during their post masters certificate program. In addition to RISE attendance requirements, post masters certificate students must participate in practice intensives at the College of Nursing.
