Here is a brief synopsis of the paper that was constructed by Iglesias and Bhattachary .

A dynamical system similar to ones that govern communication between neurons. In this paper we showed, theoretically, that these waves could be made to stop, resulting in a thin, stable, pattern of high activity. In cells, this region of high activity could give rise to long, thin extensions known as filopodia. Experimentally, we showed that this transition from wave to stable pattern exists in both Dictyostelium amoebae as well as some mammalian mutant strains.

Students must pass a preliminary exam in their first major field. Preliminary exams are given at the end of Winter quarter and focus on the topics covered during the Fall and Winter field seminars. Ideally students pass their preliminary exam in the first year of study they must do so by the second year.

Students also are required to complete a field paper before advancing to candidacy. Field papers resemble articles published in professional journals, not only in structure and format, but by making original contributions to the scholarly literature on their chosen topic. These papers often emerge from seminars and frequently serve as preliminary explorations of dissertation research. They also commonly serve as prototypes for conference papers and many eventually find publication in refereed journals. In multiple respects, then, they assist students in defining and developing their own professional agendas. Both papers are typically submitted no later than the third year of enrollment, though earlier submission is both possible and encouraged.

VIVO Map of Science visualization depicts the topical expertise a university, organization, or person has based on past publications loaded into VIVO.

This visualization is based on the publications we were able to cience locate' for Tara Wood DNP, CRNP-FO, NNP-BC, and therefore it may not be fully representative of the overall publication activity for Tara Wood DNP, CRNP-FO, NNP-BC.

The publication coverage of this visualization can be improved by including publication data in the VIVO system, and by ensuring that each publication in the VIVO system is associated with a journal that the Map of Science recognizes (based on the holdings of Thomson ISI database and Elsevier Scopus database). Journal names containing typos or other idiosyncrasies may need to be cleaned up before they are recognized.

The listed organizations are children of the Tara Wood DNP, CRNP-FO, NNP-BC node in the organizational hierarchy.
