The graduate program in periodontics is a thirty-six month, continuous course of study, leading to both a certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry degree.

The general goals of the program are to train expert clinicians in this specialty, and or to prepare individuals for an academic (research-teaching) career in Periodontics.

The Advanced Education Program in Periodontics is research-oriented and has trained clinician-scientists for careers in academia, research, teaching, or industry for than 40 years.

Domestic and internationally-trained dentists are eligible to apply to this program.

Students have the freedom to choose among the various courses in each of those subjects that may be offered by the School of Dental Medicine, the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Roswell Park Memorial Institute, Kaleida Health System Buffalo General Hospital, and other graduate Departments.

Note: PASS candidates who take the iNBDE during their final year of dental training should provide the intended test date scores must be submitted before a formal offer of admission is granted.

The NBDE is optional for all non-PASS programs.

The Graduate Program in Periodontology at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry provides qualified dentists with specialized clinical training and evidence-based education in all facets of periodontology and dental implantology. The curriculum places an emphasis on a wide range of osseous, regenerative and periodontal plastic surgical techniques as well as all aspects of surgical oral implantology. Students earn a graduate certificate in Periodontics and a simultaneous Master of Science on Oral Health Sciences, which is a requirement of the program.

The rigorous 36-month, full-time postgraduate program prepares students for practice, teaching and research in periodontology and oral implantology. You will receive advanced education related to the attachment apparatus of the dentition, and the diseases and conditions that affect them.
